What you missed at Springfest 2012!

Rotunda cake made by Charm City Cakes, the Ace of Cakes Bakery!

U.Va. students had a jam-packed weekend crammed with events to do, instead of studying for finals. With Foxfield and Springfest, there were many distractions on grounds for students. On Friday, the amphitheatre was full of moon bounces, tons of free food, multiple eating contests, a photo booth, a drawing to win a slice of the Rotunda cake made by Charm City Cakes (more famously known as the Ace of Cakes Bakery), and much more. UPC provided all of these events and activities for Springfest as well as a concert by Basshunter.

Many students arrived at the JPJ arena to see Basshunter and his opening acts by Beau Young Prince and Brenton Duvall. The crowd enjoyed Beau Young Prince and his groupies/band awkwardly dancing around for the opening acts while constantly videotaping the audience. They were even kind enough to throw some of the audience members a few kettle cooked potato chips that they constantly munched on stage.

When Basshunter came out, the crowd went wild. While every girl in the crowd
(and I’m sure even some guys) wanted Basshunter, it seemed he was more interested in the security member at the front of the stage. As he continued to ask her what she was doing that night and rubbed her hair, it was quite obvious some girls in the front were getting a little too jealous.

This year’s Springfest was a hit and UPC deserves a round of applause for putting together such a great night and events all week.
