Washington finally has a winning team? After being the worst team in the league more than once since the first draft pick in 2005, it’s about time. Nationals fans are ready to have a team to cheer for.
For the first time in 79 years, and only the second time in franchise history, the Washington Nationals have won the N.L. (National League) East. Winning their series of five games against the Philadelphia Phillies, and due to the loss of the Braves, the Nationals clenched the title of division champion Monday night. This means they will be in the six elite teams competing in the playoffs for the World Series.
“This is a huge deal, winning the N.L. East. Are you kidding me? This division is as tough as any. We won it. Now, we’re setting our sights higher” said General Manager Mike Rizzo.
Now it’s really time to “ignite your Natitude” and support the Washington Nationals as they enter the playoffs.
