When it comes to simplicity in music, being simple is not necessarily a bad thing. It doesn’t mean that the musicians aren’t talented. It’s just how they play or sing.
Music is music. If it sounds good, that’s all that matters.
Meg White, from The White Stripes is known for her simple drumming style. In a quote from her ex-husband and ex-band mate, Jack White, he stated that he admires her ability to play so simply, and that he was grateful that she was willing to do ( Those aren’t his exact words, but it was something like that). If you were a White Stripes fan, then you believed that Jack and Meg were the perfect music duo. Jack’s guitar riffs and voice worked perfectly with Meg’s drumming. One of the things that I like most about her drumming is that it’s not overbearing. I don’t hear too many cymbals or anything else (I don’t really know anything about drums) that would annoy me. Also, like Jack had stated, it is certainly a talent to be able to play like so simply . She makes drumming sound like it may be easy, but it’s not. I thought I could learn how to play “Blue Orchid” on drums in a short amount of time, and I failed miserably.
