One morning, during winter break, I decided to watch some MTV. Teen Mom was having a marathon, and I love seeing Jenelle and her mom fight! During one of the commercial breaks, I saw a movie trailer for Chronicle. The movie trailer surprised me. All of a sudden, these guys who seemed to be having fun in a grocery store were yelling at their friend for pushing a car off of the road…by waving his hand. The best part about the trailer? I thought I was watching a commercial until the movie title and rating appeared on the screen. Immediately, I knew I was going to see the movie in theaters.
I saw Chronicle the first day it came to Charlottesville. Seriously, it’s one of the best action/sci-fi/drama movies I’ve seen in a while… (Probably, the only action/sci-fi/drama movie I’ve seen…Does Star Wars count?) There were a few parts in the movie that were kind of dull, but it all made sense eventually.
Chronicle is an action/sci-fi/drama about an outcast, the outcast’s cousin, and the cousin’s best friend who discover a secret area that gives them telekinesis. The guys start to have fun with their powers until one of them (guess who?) goes a little too far and becomes too powerful. This movie is fantastic! I was hooked from the beginning to the end. Even when it ended, I wanted to stay in the theatre. My reaction to the ending was, “Did that just really happen?” I’m definitely going to see it again.
