Hoos in the 2012 London Olympics

Eleven former and current Cavalier athletes are set to compete in the 2012 London Olympic games July 25 – August 12. UVa sends an impressive and widespread field of athletes as they represent in six different sports and also send 2 alternates. Gold medal hopefuls include swimming stars Lauren Perdue and Matt McLean, both representing the USA in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay. UVa has sent at least one swimmer to the Olympic games since 1996. Former Cavalier and NCAA champion Somdev Davvarman also makes his Olympic debut in London as he competes for India in singles tennis. After graduating from UVa in 2008, Davvarman turned pro and has climbed to the No. 62 rank in the world.

Check out the table below for when to cheer on your fellow Cavs as they compete on the worldwide stage. We will keep this page updated with all of the latest updates. Best of luck to the athletes and WAHOOWA!
