Halftime Performer for the 2013 Super Bowl Confirmed

Last year it was Madonna, accompanied by Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and M.I.A whose performance was watched by 114 million people for the halftime show of the Super Bowl.  It’s been confirmed, with her “Countdown to Touchdown” website post including the words “Feb. 3 2013” that pop sensation Beyonce will take the stage for the halftime show this year.  This will be her second Super Bowl performance, since she sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl in XXXVIII.

Beyonce has the honor to be the first halftime performer in the Louisiana Superdome since 2002 due to the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  Pepsi will once again sponsor the show.

There is speculation that, should the NFL Halftime Show feature collaborations, her husband, the rapper, Jay-Z, would accompany Beyonce.  Potentially, she would also be accompanied by her former Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.
