Trying to get school work done, making those horrendous 8 a.m. classes, and finding time for friends are difficult for any college

student. Doing all of that and being fashionable, takes a lot of time and effort. However, the lovely ladies at the University of Virginia somehow pull it off. Whether it’s studying in the library, hanging out with friends on the Lawn, or heading to the Corner or Downtown, UVa girls are always fashionable.

A fall fashion trend that has been sweeping across Grounds are leggings. Be it wearing them under a cute fall dress or pairing them with a comfortable t-shirt, leggings are seen all over Grounds. Most commonly found are black leggings, but some come in all colors, such as hot pink and neon green, while some even come in patterns.

Scarves have also become popular this fall season. They’re cute, practical, and protect the wearer from the cold wind while looking very cute at the same time. This is probably my personal favorite. Scarves are fun to shop for, because there are so many different options. There are blends of every different color combinations you can think of, with different fabrics, beads, and glitter. If you’re feeling really creative, pick up a pair of knitting needles and try your hand at making a fashionable scarf to wear this fall season or even into the winter!

Another trend that’s become popular around grounds is women’s button up shirts. With the comfortable feel and the look of a country cutie, who wouldn’t love this look? Throw it on with a pair of leggings or jeans in the morning with your cutest boots (which have also become very popular this season) toss your hair up into a ponytail or pigtails, and you’re out the door. Now you have a quick way to create a cute outfit.

Cowboy boots are the shoes of the season. The great thing about cowboy boots is that they go with literally anything. Put on a dress, a skirt, jeans, leggings, whatever you feel like wearing that day. Then, you realize, ‘oh no, I don’t have any shoes.’ Go through your closet and dig out those absolutely adorable cowboy boots you have hiding in there. You really can’t go wrong.

Finally, light dresses made a comeback this summer and seem to be holding steady throughout the fall thus far. Girls pair these

fabulous dresses with quarter or full length sleeved jackets when it starts getting a little cool outside (or just in case the classrooms are freezing).  Patterned dresses seem to be all the rage this year while solid colored dresses are cute, but seem to not show themselves quite as often. Dresses are great because you can wear just about any shoe with them and there are so many jewelry options. Also, it doesn’t really matter what you do with your hair because, somehow, it always goes with the dress and gives just the right look.
