A Thought To Remember

A Shout Out To the UTS Bus Drivers

I don’t know about you guys, but I am so appreciative of the men and women who drive the UTS buses. I always make sure to say “Thanks!” with a big grin whenever I get off at my stop. I will admit that I have a favorite though.

Last semester I was going back from dinner on an Inner Loop bus when all of a sudden Taylor Swift’s “You Belong with Me” started playing. To everyone on the bus’s amazement, the bus driver started singing along. It was a man. Then, the entire bus joined in enthusiastically. Best experience of my college career. It was one of those moments that you don’t care who’s watching. You just have to join in, because you will regret it if you don’t. It was a once in a lifetime thing…or so I thought.

Tonight I got on a North Line bus and “As Long as You Love Me” started playing. The bus driver started singing along, and that was when I knew it was the same guy. He didn’t sing particularly well, but he was so happy to sing. It made his nights more enjoyable.

Moral of the story, be nice to your bus drivers and be open to anything; you never know what might happen. You might even have Santa as your bus driver. Seriously, there is a guy that looks exactly like Santa Claus that drives UTS buses. I kid you not.
